BACKGROUND  

Edraak, a massive open online course (MOOC) platform, is an initiative of the Queen Rania Foundation (QRF). QRF is determined to ensure that the Arab world is at the forefront of educational innovation. As such, QRF has capitalized on regional Arab talent to leverage technology developed by the Harvard-MIT consortium, edX, to create the first non-profit Arabic MOOC platform. The new MOOC platform will present the Arab world with unique and vital opportunities that can be part of a necessary revolution in education and learning. BACKGROUND

Established in 2009, and in line with Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah’s vision, QRTA is a non-profit organization committed to supporting and empowering educators with the skills needed to nurture and lead future generations. QRTA offers innovative and evidence-based professional development programs informed by international best practices and the latest research in the field. Since its inception, QRTA has provided teachers and school leaders with professional learning opportunities and over 100,000 professional development opportunities across its various programs.

Chaired by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, JRF is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 1995 with a focus on child safety and community empowerment.

Celebrating 25 years since its establishment, JRF continues to build a Jordan for safer children, equal opportunities, and sustainable growth, as it marks the commendable transformation of hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries reached under its Community Empowerment and Child Safety Programs.

The Children’s Museum Jordan

The Children’s Museum Jordan

BACKGROUND

The Children’s Museum Jordan was established through the vision of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah to provide Jordan’s future generations with a space for interactive learning.

Children under the age of 12 can freely explore exhibits, reach their own conclusions after analysis and learn from experiences. Spread over a space of 8,500 sqm, the Museum has over 185 exhibits and offers year-round programs, activities and celebrations.

Children also enjoy educational facilities inside the Museum including: the Art Studio, a Secret Garden and Library as well as a Tinker Lab.

Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans

BACKGROUND

When they reach the age of 18, orphans graduate from care homes and begin a new phase of their educational and working lives. However, they may lack guidance, financial and psychological support at this stage due to their difficult living conditions. Based on this reality, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah took the initiative to launch the Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans in 2003 and it was established in 2006 under the name of the Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans as a non-profit charitable organization. Royal Health Awareness Society

Royal Health Awareness Society

BACKGROUND

The Royal Health Awareness Society (RHAS) develops and implements public health and safety programs in an effort to increase health awareness in Jordan and change unhealthy habits and lifestyles. The need for RHAS’ services stems from the rise in deaths resulting from non-communicable diseases; statistics indicate that about 3 out of 4 deaths in Jordan are caused by non-infectious diseases.

When planning and implementing its programs, the RHAS relies on raising awareness rather than providing remedial services, believing that prevention is better than cure and the best way to enable

Madrasati

BACKGROUND

Madrasati creates safe and dynamic learning environments that significantly contribute towards improving the quality of education. Social and emotional learning is embedded throughout our interventions, which promote social cohesion among students from different nationalities and backgrounds, as well as reinforce positive pro-social behaviors, reduce violence among students, making a positive impact on students’ interpersonal acceptance. All Madrasati schools have undergone comprehensive maintenance and renovation to make them safer and more conducive learning environments.
