The embassy of the Republic of China to the Jordanian Hashemite Kingdome and the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding as part of their efforts to support the technology sector in education in Jordan.
The MOU stated that the embassy will provide support to the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development in the field of information technology and communication integration in education. Accordingly, the embassy has purchased technological equipment that includes computers, projector, and smart boards that will be distributed to 13 public schools in various governorates across the kingdom through the Jordan Education Initiative (JEI), one of QRF’s affiliate organizations. Since its inception in 2003; and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the JEI aims to prepare students to acquire the 21st century skills and enable them to compete in the local and international job markets through the educational technology.
The MOU was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Queen Rania Foundation, Mrs. Haifa Dia Al-Attia and Mr. Ban Weifang, the Ambassador of the Republic of China to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The importance of continuing to support educational initiatives in the kingdom at all levels was highlighted in line with the vision and efforts aiming at continuous development, and to implement effective teaching practices to create a positive change in the educational system in the Kingdom.
It is worth mentioning that through the work of QRF to develop the strategic thinking about the main issues related to human resources development in the Kingdom, Mrs. Haifa Diya’ Alatiyya noted that “Defining technology in education is one of the pillars of this development as being parcel of the 21st century, and a strong tool to enhance learning outcomes and increase opportunities for education”. This is what the model of education for the Jordan Education Initiative provides and is implemented in some of the Ministry of Education schools.”
