Research and Program Development - Surveys and Applied Research

About the Research and Program Development Department:

The Research and Program Development Department undertakes programmatic and policy-oriented research to support the improvement of literacy, numeracy, and socioemotional learning from pre-primary to secondary education across Jordan. 

About the Position:

We are seeking candidates with strong quantitative research skills to work on QRF’s primary surveys research, policy analysis and report writing aimed at improving learning outcomes for students in Jordan. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting research design and planning for large-scale (national) and small-scale surveys on education issues (e.g., surveys of teachers, students, etc.)
  • Supervising data collection, quality assurance, and data validation for surveys
  • Conducting data analysis of QRF’s survey research data and secondary quantitative datasets
  • Drafting reports and briefing notes related to QRF’s applied policy research, program development, or other research projects
  • Performing secondary research and program development related tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Psychology, Public Policy, Education or another relevant discipline, with demonstrated coursework in quantitative analysis
  • Demonstrated experience conducting surveys research, including familiarity with sampling, questionnaire design, and data collection approaches
  • Proficiency with SPSS, Stata, R and/or other statistical software
  • Arabic and English fluency (written and spoken)
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Passion for improving student learning outcomes in Jordan Preferred Qualifications
  • A portfolio of reports or publications drawing from surveys research and/or quantitative datasets
  • Work experience in education or another relevant field: education, economic development, public policy, research, consulting, etc.
  • Work experience in Jordan or the region
